Digital transformation is no longer a topic reserved for IT departments. Today, it impacts business competitiveness, the modernization of institutions, the evolution of employment, and a region’s ability to position itself in an increasingly demanding global environment. It is within this context that DOK Summit 2026 takes place, an event designed to connect technology, industry, talent, and innovation from a strategic and applied perspective. DOK is positioned as a leading event for the Basque Country and as a platform with a focus on international outreach.
Much more than just a technology conference
The DOK Summit is not your typical tech event. Its purpose is not merely to host presentations or highlight trends. Its ambition is broader: to serve as a meeting place where the major challenges of digital transformation, the data economy, business competitiveness, talent acquisition, and collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders intersect.
That is one of its key distinguishing features. DOK Summit aims to bring together in a single space not only those who develop technology, but also those who implement it, fund it, regulate it, teach it, or rely on it to transform their organizations. That is why its target audience includes executives, technology leaders, talent managers, public sector representatives, the technical community, and training professionals.
An event designed with the current context in mind
The raison d’être of the DOK Summit is closely tied to the current situation in the Basque Country. Digitalization can no longer be viewed merely as an operational improvement. Today, it is part of broader issues: the competitiveness of the productive sector, the ability to generate skilled jobs, attracting and retaining talent, innovation in strategic sectors, and building a robust technological ecosystem connected to the world. This vision positions DOK as a tool to strengthen the Basque Country’s standing as a leading digital hub in Southern Europe.
From this perspective, DOK Summit does not merely address the technology sector. It also speaks to industrial companies, government agencies, institutional stakeholders, educational institutions, and organizations that need to understand where the digital economy is headed and what role they can play within it.
The key themes of DOK Summit 2026
The DOK Summit 2026 proposal is structured around several strategic pillars that provide a clear understanding of its scope. On the one hand, it focuses on the sector—that is, on the reality and competitiveness of the digital ecosystem itself. On the other hand, it addresses the market, viewing technology as a lever to transform strategic industries and sectors and respond to specific challenges. Added to this is the talent pillar, key to attracting, training, and retaining specialized professionals, and a community dimension, linked to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and open innovation.
In terms of topics, DOK Summit focuses on areas such as applied artificial intelligence, the data economy, cybersecurity, new digital capabilities, emerging technologies, the digital industry, and sustainability. The goal is not to address these topics from an abstract perspective, but rather to connect them to real-world needs, specific cases, and tangible opportunities for the economic and social fabric.
An action-oriented format
Another defining feature of the event is its practical focus. The DOK Summit is designed as an experience that brings together inspiration, learning, networking, and the creation of opportunities. The event features spaces such as the Main Stage, technical and industry-specific areas, a talent zone, a business lounge, and an exhibition area. All of this follows a clear logic: to facilitate both strategic dialogue and meaningful connections among ecosystem stakeholders.
Furthermore, the project’s communication plan emphasizes a key point: DOK does not want to be perceived as a passive conference, but rather as an environment where collective intelligence, interaction, and new formats add real value to the experience. This aspect helps explain why the event seeks to distinguish itself not only through the topics it addresses, but also through the way it brings them to life.
A solid foundation for growth
Although DOK Summit looks to the future, it is not starting from scratch. Its inaugural edition in 2024 served to validate interest in the model and establish a foundation for its positioning. According to the project materials, that edition reinforced the idea of DOK as a platform for innovation, talent, and knowledge sharing, with institutional support and the participation of companies, technology providers, and the specialized community.
Looking ahead to 2026, the plan is to consolidate and expand this initiative. The next edition will take place on November 23 and 24, 2026, at Euskalduna Bilbao, with a scale designed to bring together more than 2,000 attendees and further strengthen the role of the DOK Summit within the calendar of strategic events related to innovation and digital transformation in the Basque Country.
